Sensei Warren Berto holds the rank of Kyoshi, Master Instructor, 7th Dan Black Belt. He is a direct student of Master Zenpo Shimabukuro Hanshi 10th degree Black Belt, the Head of Shorin Ryu Seibukan Karate-do. Master Zenpo Shimabukuro is the son of the founder of Okinawa Shorin Ryu Seibukan Karate­do, Master Zenryo Shimabukuro, Hanshi lOth Dan. Master Zenryo Shimabukuro was a direct student of the famous Master Chotoku Kyan.

Sensei Berto is a member of the Senior Executive Board and Secretary/Treasurer of the International Okinawa Shorin Ryu Seibukan Karate Association. The IOSSKA has schools in seventeen countries.

Sensei Berto has taught traditional Okinawa Shorin Ryu Seibukan Karate, and Aikido for fifty years and has dojos (schools) in Ketchikan, Alaska, Craig Alaska, Anchorage Alaska, Whidbey Island Washington, and Custer South Dakota.
